Vehicle parking standards - Posted 8/31/2020

Be advised that open parking spots are designated for visitors and short term parking.  Vehicles must move regularly (no more than one week).  Commercial vehicles may not be parked overnight (anything with a marking that promotes a business).   Residents have two parking spots and sometimes 3 which are assigned.  Two car garages have 2 spots plus behind the garage door.  Single garages have the inside spot and directly behind the garage door.  Vehicles not moving from visitor parking regularly will be tagged and ultimately towed.  Further, the By-Laws state that vehicles must be “operable” which means tires are not flat and license tabs are current.

Residents of Addington Corners:

 As you might be aware, there was a building fire at building 18 (by the Pontiac Trail entrance) on August 15, 2020 at approximately 10 pm.  The Fire Department was on the scene quickly and ensured everyone was evacuated and safe.  The Association has hired Concraft to partner with the insurance company to clean up and ultimately restore the building.  Should you be affected by the fire, please contact Aneil Kersey (of Concraft Restoration) at 248-982-5872 cell/text.

 We are still gathering information and will communicate with you as we know the facts and next steps.  It’s a big relief that everyone is OK, that’s most important.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - POOL CLOSING - 7/15/2020


Dear Residents:
 
Unfortunately, the pool at Addington Corners will be closed for the remainder of the season, effective immediately.  This was a difficult, but necessary decision to protect the community.
 
The Board worked closely with AMI , our Attorney and Pristine Pools to develop a plan that met the Oakland County Health Department requirements, to ensure a safe swimming season for the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the success of the plan was dependent upon each piece of the plan being followed by the community.  The requirement of accountability by the Oakland County Health Department is a key function in opening a public pool which we needed to achieve by utilizing a log in book.  Unfortunately, it has been shown over the last two weeks that we cannot rely on the honor system of people adhering to the implemented requirements put in place, even with the Board doing scheduled monitoring. An email warning was sent out on July 7th, 2020, however, many residents have still failed to comply. The inability to rely on all residents to sign into the log book, or follow all requirements during this pandemic to ensure everyone's safety, leaves us with no choice but to close the pool for the remainder of the season. Our goal is to try to keep everyone safe during this crazy time.
